Suffering is not the destination. God can use it to produce something that survives the season.

Romans 5:3–4 does not call suffering good simply because it hurts. It teaches believers to recognize what God can form through it. Trials can produce perseverance; perseverance can shape character; and character can strengthen a hope that is not dependent on comfortable circumstances.

To glory in suffering does not mean seeking pain, denying grief, or pretending hardship is easy. It means trusting that suffering is not meaningless in the hands of God. The season may take something from us, but it can also become the ground where endurance develops and faith becomes more deeply rooted.
