Joshua 1:9 does not describe courage as natural fearlessness or confidence in our own strength. God commands His people to be strong because His presence goes with them. Biblical courage is the decision to keep walking faithfully because the Lord has promised that we will not walk alone.

The front reads COURAGEOUS, carrying the central response demanded by the verse.

The back begins with HAVE I NOT COMMANDED YOU? as a firm declaration before moving into the commanding focal point: BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. The remainder of the Scripture forms a controlled supporting block beneath it, grounding the command in its true source—God’s presence wherever we go.

The design does not treat courage as a slogan. Its hierarchy preserves the complete message: God commands, His people respond, and His presence makes obedience possible.
